I Think We Found It

Well I think we found the house we are going to make an offer on! It isn't the one we originally went to the bank for, this is kind of a meant to be sort of thing. I'm one of those that believes things happen for a reason. So this is how it happened...

B was supposed to work on a side job last night, but it was raining all day so he was able to go with mom and me to look at the 1st house we liked. While talking about the house I mentioned to the realtor that we were going to do a drive by on another house to see if we wanted to look at it. He said, "well its vacant so I can follow you over there and let you in if you'd like." So we decided that would be easiest. It's a double wide, not my ideal home, but a good start, it has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths (one off the master bedroom! I've always wanted that) a den, living room, eat in kitchen, dining area, and small laundry room. It has 2 small porches and an insulated shed. And it has 5.3 acres of land! And the best part is that it doesn't need any real work that we don't want to do. It could use a new floor in the kitchen, but that's about it, and maybe a few new sheets of siding. The only down side is that it doesn't have a lot of storage, but there is a cement slab to build storage on! I can't wait to hear from the bank and make an offer!

In other news, Lillian is up to 5 oz bottles now. She's also started having some issues when it's time to go to bed. She won't sit through a whole story and she acts like she's gas and can't get comfortable. The only thing that helped her last night was breastfeeding, I'm glad she didn't fall asleep with my boob in her mouth though, I really don't want her getting into that habit.

This is her "Are you done yet mom, I want to go to bed" face.

Productive Vacation Days!

Well maybe not quite as productive as I wanted, but excitingly productive none the less. The list of things I wanted to get done:

  • A meal plan for this week - Not needed as B is working most nights this week
  • Grocery List - adding to it as we run out of things
  • Upload pictures to Walmart.com and order - DONE
  • Fix my WTE signature - DONE (time consuming and not important)
  • Upload pictures to Face.Book - DONE
  • Mail bottles
  • Get phone contacts into new phone - DONE
  • Laundry - DONE (kinda, still have 2 loads to fold and begin again)
  • Update Lillian's baby book
  • Sort pictures for Lillian's scrap book
  • Prepare food for dinners this week
  • 3 Month professional pictures - DONE
  • Meet with bank about a mortgage loan - DONE

So I got almost half the stuff done, some of the stuff I did do wasn't all that important and some of the stuff I didn't do is important, but hey the list is cut in half right. And the best part is that I got to do all of it with my daughter! It was so nice to only have to pump once a day (after her morning feeding). This morning was the first bottle she had since around 2pm on Friday and I'm so happy about that. I've really learned to BF in public. Both at the mall and in the loan officer's office!

The pictures went great! We went to Penny's and they got 16 poses which is great considering it was her normal nap time. Plus I picked the right day because I didn't have an appointment so while I was waiting I went to the baby section and guess what, they were having a 70% off sale!!! I got $198 worth of clothes for only $70!!! Not to mention I was a really good girl and only bought 9 and 12 month clothes!! And the 12 month summery clothes can always be warn with sweaters and tights if she grows into 12 months before it gets warm.

And as for the meeting with the bank, we can afford the house we are thinking about putting an offer on!!! I'm so excited about this, we've been waiting 2 years to be able to say that and I just can't wait to have my own home!

Not much else going on, nights may be a little rough this week and the next few as B has side jobs he can work at night when he gets out of his normal job. It will be great to have some extra money, but I hate not seeing him!

3 Months and 13 Weeks!

Wow, I can't believe how big she is getting...

Stats:

Weight - 12.2lbs (+3.8 from birth)
Length - I didn't have time to do this yesterday, so hopefully tonight!

She's learning so much:
She holds her head up for long periods of time now
  • She loves to stand, much more than sitting at the moment, if you pull on her arms just a little she will stiffen her legs and pull up with her arms.

  • She talks to everything, people, her toys, the wall... but her favorite time to talk is when I'm changing her to get ready for bed.

  • She has started to reach for thing, though she doesn't always get her hands where she wants them
  • She has become an expert at getting her hands to her mouth and she prefers the whole fist to just a finger or two or a thumb, and if you put something in her hand, it goes directly to her mouth!
  • She's been sleeping in her crib all night for almost 2 full weeks now. And she no longer fusses when I put her down. I started by letting her fall asleep first, but now we read a story (unless she's too tired) and then we rock a few minutes until her eyes are heavy and then she goes in the crib, her seahorse plays once and she's out til at least 6am when we have to wake her to go to the sitter.

  • And I have to say that she definitely knows when mommy is there to pick her up cause she gets this huge smile on her face, it just melts my heart.

I think that's about all for this update, I'm slowly getting better about leaving her, but you'd think after 7 weeks I'd be ok.

A New Career?

I was confessing to Brian Friday night how much I hate leaving Lillian in the morning. Even though I'm taking 50mg of Zoloft every night I have small anxiety attacks every time I leave her in the morning. He suggested I start my own day care. I love this idea, but I just don't know if I can make enough money doing it. I currently bring home almost $600/wk after taxes and insurance for the family and all that. I just don't know if I could make that much. I mean I would have to have at least 4 children (plus Lillian) at $150/wk just to make the $600 that doesn't count taxes or insurance or anything. I guess I have a lot of research to do!
Saturday night I went out and got drunk for the first time! It was really hard for me to leave her, but I did it. It really helped that we went out with the girl that is watching Lillian for me right now and her husband, who happens to be B's boss. We went to Nights Under Fire at the drag racing track. We actually know a few of the people who drag and for this event they had a jet powered 4 wheeler and a jet powered tractor trailer, it was awesome!

I guess you can say I'm a bit of country girl, I love the sound of a cars engine and drag racing or tractor pulls. And yes I watch NASCAR.

Anyway, yesterday I went and bought Lillian a Jungle Exersaucer. Yes they say she's a month too young for it, but she just loves to stand up so I thought it was time. She was in aww of it, funny thing is right now her favorite part is the little koala that hangs from the bar, she could care less about the iguana that lights up and plays a song. I'll have to post pictures tomorrow cause I didn't take the time to pack the camera this morning.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Friday, Friday, FiDAY!!!

So if you listen to QCountry you know what I'm talking about. There's a goofy guy on in the afternoons and he sings what he calls the Friday Song. It just says Friday, Friday, Friday but it makes me smile.
I'm so glad it's the weekend and I'm going to get to spend extra time with my little girl. Thing is B wants to go to these drag races tomorrow night, and I want to go, but I don't really want to leave Lillian and she can't go. How do you make these decisions? And I'm getting a little irritated cause B keeps asking if I've found a sitter. And then I have to remind him that if I don't know what time we need the sitter for then it's hard to find one. Its not like with the dogs where you just tell the person well "in the morning" or "some time tonight". I mean seriously people have better things to do than sit around waiting for me to say "Hey I need a sitter right now."
In other news, last night I found a wonderful solution to part of my time crunch problem. Lillian and I are now going to shower or take a bath together every night. It worked out wonderfully last night. She sits in her Bumbo seat at the end of the tub while I shower and then I pick her up and wash her (she's fascinated by the spray that I put on half pressure) and then when we're all rinsed off I place her in her bathtub that I have waiting outside the shower with a towel laying on the mesh for the infants and I wrap her up quick so she can wait for me to dry off and get my robe on. It was great, we spent time together, she's working on sitting and experiencing new things while I'm getting at least one thing done.
I also found out that she like sitting on dryer in her Bumbo while it's running.
These are from her bath with mommy the other night...

Will it Ever End?

I still want to cry every morning when I drop Lillian off. It makes it so hard to get through the day! I sit and think about how she is playing with another woman (even though I really like her) and it makes me sad. And then I think of how I have so much to do when I get home that I feel she is missing out on mommy time and that I'm not teaching her things. I can never wait for the end of the say when I can leave to get her. And the trip there seems to take forever!

Will this sadness ever go away?

Can you see why I miss her so much? Look at that precious little face...

Back to the Grind

Well I would have blogged while I was away, but my computer quit working. The battery won't charge and the adapter broke. And then to top things off, my cell phone got wet and won't get service. Thankfully I'll have a new phone today.

Last week was full of lots of excitement for Lillian. On Sunday the 5th she went to her first fireworks show. She pretty much ate through the whole thing, so what she thinks of fireworks I'm not sure, but boy does she love the boob! She also went to the beach for the first time that day. She slept the whole time! The next day when we went to the beach again I heard some young girls, maybe 21, saying "why would you even bother to bring a baby that young to the beach?" I just laughed to myself. Some day they too will know what it's like to have to deal with the hassle just so you can do something with the family and have some fun.

She went swimming in the lake for the first time. She wasn't all happy and giggles, but she certainly didn't hate it! And she napped on her grandma and grandpa's boat for a while too! They anchored out in the lake and we walked out to see them from the shore.

Anyway, Lillian got to meat all of her Great Aunts and Uncles on my side and most of her cousins, well 2nd cousins. She also learned how to use her bouncy chair. You should just see her when she gets it bouncing and she's playing with the hanging toys. She just loves it! I'm so proud of her!

She also started sleeping in her crib again when we got home Sunday night. So far so good, she's only woken me up a few times to help her find her binkie cause she tends to scooch up. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Well enough babble, how about some pictures?

July!

I can't believe it's already July!!! It's going to be a busy month, well kind of.

Tomorrow is my sister's birthday and being that I have the day off her, our mom and I are all going to get the full mani, pedi treatment. That's what I got for my b-day, but never got the chance to use it so we are going to have some girl time. Then we are going out around 9pm to have a few drinks. Thankfully my aunt is going to watch Lillian at my house for a few hours. I'm so glad because now B can go out with us. Then Friday we leave for the beach! I can't wait, Lillian and I will be there (with a bunch of family) until the 12th! B will only be with us on the weekends though :(

Then the 28th is B's 33rd birthday, I have no idea what I'm gonna do for him. Any ideas?

Oh yeah and we are starting to look at houses this week! I'm so excited! I really can't wait to have our own place where we can have a yard for the dogs and I can get things organized and actually decorate with the things we got for our wedding almost 2 years ago!

Ok, now to the mommy stuff. I'm not sure what to think on this. When Lillian was with Nana during the week she was drinking at least 3 4oz bottles every day and once in a while she'd drink 4. Now my sister is watching her and she is drinking maybe 2 4oz bottles. I'm not sure if its because she has been having her first bottle a little later than she was before, if its because she has changed her nap time, or if my sister can't always tell when she is hungry. I'm thinking its just a schedule cause Mon (my sister) hasn't had a problem with her crying and she rarely takes her binkie during the day according to her. She has been eating at least twice at night though so I'm trying not to worry, but I can't help but worry a little that she isn't eating enough. Of course it could just be this cold she has too, it's going away though!

As for me, I feel like the last picture I posted of her on Monday! Yesterday I actually left work early because for a half hour I kept nodding off at my computer and finally decided I wasn't going to get anything done anyway. I went to my mom's to feed Lillian rather than pump and guess who decided she didn't want to take a nap, Lillian, so guess who didn't get a nap, yup, me! And then when she did nap I had to go pick B up! So once again I'm tired today, Welcome to mommyhood!!!

Oh yeah and just to add a little more to this novel: when I was trying to find a sitter so we could go out with my sister B suggested his step mom and I finally broke down and told him that he wouldn't understand, but she had stepped on my toes and I don't trust her to take care of Lillian the way I want her to. Thankfully he didn't try and tell me I'm nuts or defend her, he just said well if you can't find some one you trust then I will stay home with her so you can go out with your sister! It made me so happy for him to understand, or at least just deal with it. But as I said above, we found a sitter.
So I'm probably going to post a picture every day cause I just love looking at my little girl. If you get sick of them just let me know!
